About
Academics had been my main interest. I got a comprehensive development as an academic in a very well reputed lab of Late Prof. R Kumar and Prof. K S Gandhi. Chemical Engineering is a discipline which merges Applied Sciences to Engineering aspects for betterment of standard of living of human being. Biodegradable surfactants like proteins was center of research interest in early turn of the century. While researching on the effectiveness of foam separation of Protein we started with an assumption that the process will be a mass transfer rate controlled due to the large size of protein molecules. But to our complete surprise we found that the process was adsorption rate controlled and that being the most important part of my research work which till date receives great appreciation from researcher across the globe. After completion my PhD at IISc in 2000, I had done an industrially motivated work on Liquid Crystal Rheology for almost one year before joining B M S College of Engineering, Bengaluru in 2001. My journey as a teacher had been fantastic. The association of the bright students, wonderful academic environment of the great institute helped me to complete a decade as head of the department. The Chemical Engineering UG program got accreditation in Tier-I format from NBA, India in 2013-14 while I was the sitting HOD. Today we take pride as our teaching learning is Outcomes Based Education. Under the TEQIP-II support a Post-Graduation Program in Biochemical Engineering is started in 2012-14. The department is VTU recognized research center and 2 graduates received their PhD degree from the same research center under my guidance.

National Level Best Teacher in Chemical Engineering award given by Vijayavani the leading daily in Karnataka, 2015
As Head of the Department in Chemical Engineering received 5 Years Accreditation from National Board of Accreditation in Tier-1 format in 2014. The evaluation was conducted for UG-Chemical Engineering in presence of One International Observer along with national experts.
Started Post Graduation course in Biochemical Engineering at Chemical Engineering, BMSCE on 2013-14.
General Merit Senior Research scholar at Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore from 1994-2000.
