About

Dr Ravikumar L has done his early education in Government Pre University College, Koratagere, He then pursued B.E in Mechanical Engineering from Bangalore University, ME in Machine Design from B.M.S. College of Engineering affiliated to Bangalore University and Ph.D.in Aerospace Engineering from IIT-Kharagpur. Has total 28 years of experience in Teaching, Research and Administration.
Presently working as Professor, B.M.S. College of Engineering, Bengaluru. Served the Institution in various capacities including Lecturer, Sr. Lecturer, Assistant Professor, Professor & Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Institutional coordinator Research and Development and TEQIP coordinator for the World Bank assisted TEQIP-II and TEQIP-III project.
Academic and Research expertise includes Vibration control, Structural dynamics and Rotor dynamics and guided more than 60 UG and PG projects. He has actively involved in research and development activities. Guided 3 Ph.D students and guiding 3 Research Scholars under VTU-Belagavi . Published 20 Technical Papers in Refereed International Journals, 03 National Journals, Presented 50 Technical Papers in International Conferences and National Conferences. He has executed 8 funded projects worth of 95 Lakhs, consultancy assignments and coordinated TEQIP projects (Rupees 30 crores from World Bank &MHRD) at the institution level since last eight years. Received two Patents titled “ Bump foil squeeze film damper with floating shims in the constrained space. (Granted) No. - 2451/CHE/2015, Dated 08/05/2015 2. Bearings comprising smart materials. No. - 1461/CHE/2014,Dated-20/03/2014(Granted).
He is serving as an expert Member of the Committees in NBA, NAAC, AICTE, UGC, CEPTAM-DRDO and VTU-LIC Committee etc.
