BMSCE Campus Organic Waste Generation Stats
BMSCE Campus contains two canteens named Vidyarthi Khana (VK), One tea outlet, a Hostel mess, and an International hostel mess. Kitchen waste generated from the canteen will be categorized as fruit and vegetable peels, unused or rotten vigor fruit, and cooked food waste. On daily basis, Vidyarthi khana generates around 40-50kgs of kitchen waste at present this waste has been sent to BBMP. Apart from food waste, paper cup waste used for coffee tea, and juices has also been generated. On average around 350-400 cups are disposed of daily. The tea outlet present on the campus is a busy outlet where paper plates and paper cups waste will be generated. Around 150-200 paper cups will be used on daily basis. Apart from this tea outlet will generate around 10kg of fruit peel waste which is used to prepare fruit juices. BMSCE hostel mess generates around 25-30kgs of kitchen waste and BMSCE international hostel mess generates around 40kgs of kitchen waste on daily basis. About 10-12 kgs of dry leaf waste are generated every day on campus. Around 110kg of Kitchen waste is generated in-house.
