Niranthara Objectives

The objective of the Project
1. Preparation of microbial consortia suitable for decomposing organic waste.
2. Pilot-scale study: Standardization of process for vermicomposting of selected organic waste using indigenously developed microbial consortia.
3. Nutritional analysis of produced vermicompost for quality control parameters like NPK, TOC, TOM, and enzyme activity.
4. Screening the plant growth efficiency of vermicompost using bioassay.
5. Establishing a large-scale value-added vermicompost production unit utilizing organic waste which includes kitchen waste from the hostel mess Tea stall and canteen located on the BMSCE campus, and banana leaf waste from domestic sectors.
