GRAND CHALLENGES IMPACT LAB, INDIA A collaboration program with University of Washington and BMSCE -
Grand Challenges Impact Lab (GCIL, India is a 15-credit study abroad program in Bangalore, India during winter quarter. The program is open to University of Washington graduate students and undergraduate junior and senior students from any department. The program had an official start with the following Primary co-ordinators: 1. Prof. Samita Maitra – Professor, Dept of Chemical Engineering, BMSCE 2. Prof. Julian Marshall – Professor, University of Washington, Seattle The assisting co-ordinators chosen included; 1. Dr. Chetan Nayak – Professor and Head, Dept of Chemical Engineering, BMSCE 2. Dr. Shivakumar R - Associate Professor, Dept of Chemical Engineering, BMSCE 3. Dr. Chethana R. - Assistant Professor, Dept of Civil Engineering, BMSCE Twenty three UoW students arrived in Bangalore over January 1st 2025 with their faculty in-charge. 6th semester students, five from the civil engineering department and nine from chemical engineering department were part of the program BMSCE.
