GRAND CHALLENGES IMPACT LAB - INDIA - 2024

Grand Challenges Impact Lab (GCIL, India is a 15-credit study abroad program in Bangalore, India during winter quarter. The program is open to University of Washington graduate students and undergraduate junior and senior students from any department. The program had an official start with the following Primary co-ordinators: 1. Prof. Samita Maitra – Professor, Dept of Chemical Engineering, BMSCE 2. Prof. S. Raghunath – Professor, Dept of Civil Engineering, BMSCE 3. Prof. Julian Marshall – Professor, University of Washington, Seattle The assisting co-ordinators chosen included; 1. Dr. Chetan Nayak - Assistant Professor, Dept of Chemical Engineering, BMSCE 2. Dr. Shivakumar R - Assistant Professor, Dept of Chemical Engineering, BMSCE 3. Dr. Darshan C S - Assistant Professor, Dept of Civil Engineering, BMSCE 4. Dr. Chethana R. - Assistant Professor, Dept of Civil Engineering, BMSCE The UoW students arrived in Bangalore over January 2nd 2024 with their faculty in-charge. Eighteen 6th semester students, eight from the civil engineering department and eight from chemical engineering department were part of the program held at BMSCE.
