About

Dr. Jayanthi K Murthy is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication at B.M.S College of Engineering. Her association with the college spans over 28 years.
Dr. Jayanthi holds Masters from Bangalore University and Ph.D. from the Visveswaraya Technological University in the domain of Wireless Sensor Networks. Her research interests span both Wireless Communication and Computer Networking. She has more than 35 publications in International and National journals and conferences to her credit. She is a recognized guide for research scholars under VTU and has guided several PG dissertations. She is also a member of Board of Studies at various colleges.
Dr. Jayanthi has delivered a consultancy project on “Network coding for Industrial Applications” in collaboration with ABB valuing Rs.16.5 Lakhs. She is an active team member for TEQIP II sponsored Advanced Communication Lab at BMSCE (funds worth Rs. 40 Lakhs/2013-2014) and team member for setting up BMSCE – Keysight Co-funded Advanced Communication Lab (funds worth Rs.2.5 crore/2014-2016) and has been the investigator for Infrastructure Improvement of RF & Wireless Communication Lab at BMSCE Bangalore, sponsored by Vision Group of Science & Technology, Dept. of IT & BT, Govt. of Karnataka (funds worth Rs. 20 Lakhs/2010-2012).
The First National Conference NEWS- which focused on Networking, Embedded and Wireless Systems and later spread to the international arena as ICNEWS was started under her flagship. She has chaired several sessions in international and national conferences.
Dr Jayanthi has been associated as a Project Director with the student satellite project "BMSCE UPAGRAHA" which is being jointly launched with Alpha Design Technologies Limited. Student project proposal under her guidance has been approved by KSCST under ;Student Project Programme - 44th Series
A book chapter on “Improved Routing Protocol for Health Care Communications: A Descriptive Study” Jayanthi K. Murthy and V. Sambasiva Rao was published by B P International in Innovations in Science and Technology Vol. 7 with Print ISBN: 978-93-5547-447-6, eBook ISBN: 978-93-5547-455-1 and DOI 10.9734/bpi/ist/v7/3575E
