About

Dr. S. Akhila is a Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, having over 32 years of teaching experience and 15 years of research experience. She completed her Ph.D. in Wireless Communication from Visvesvaraya Technological University in 2013 and her graduate degree in Electronics from University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering, Bangalore University, in 1995.

Dr. Akhila has guided numerous PG and UG dissertations and currently supervises 8 research scholars, with five having already been awarded their doctorates. She has over 75 refereed journal and conference publications and holds two granted patents along with three published patents. She is a life member of ISTE, serves as the Chief Editor of the Asian Basic and Applied Research Journal, has chaired multiple sessions at international conferences, and has reviewed for various journals including Transactions on Computer-Aided Design of Integrated Circuits and Systems and the International Journal of Wireless Networks and Broadband Technologies by IGI Global.

She was actively involved in consultancy projects such as “Network Coding for Industrial Applications” worth 16.5 lakh INR and “Top Level Novel Framework and Architecture of Crypto Processor” worth 0.5 lakh INR, in collaboration with ABB and Indian Research Networks respectively. Throughout her career, she has taught various subjects to both graduate and undergraduate students and delivered a series of lectures on EDUSAT.

Her areas of expertise include Wireless Communication, Security Engineering, Optical Networks, Embedded Systems, Cryptography and Network Security, Wireless Network Analytics, Research Methodology, and IPR.

Additionally, Dr. Akhila earned her Diploma in Human Rights Studies in 2013.
