About

Dr. Y K Guruprasad is working as Associate Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at BMSCE, Bengaluru. He received his Ph.D from Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru in 2015, as he carried out part of his PhD work during 2009 at University of Edinburgh, Scotland ,United Kingdom as part of UKERI program on repair of structures adopting FRP and Behavior of Structures exposed to Fire . Post Doctoral Research Scholar at Department of Civil Engineering, IISc from Aug 2014 to Jan 2016, M. Tech in Structural Engineering from MSRIT in 2007 and B.E. in Civil Engineering from BMSCE in 2002.
Has publications in International and National Journals and Conferences as well as in SCI indexed book chapters. Has presented papers in conferences abroad - Aixen Province - France.
Has carried out Consultancy works in Non-destructive evaluation of structures and Structural Analysis & Design of RCC Structures.

He is a recipient of ACCE – SUNDARAM MERIT AWARD 2007, for Best Dissertation by a M.Tech(Structures) student from Association of Consulting Civil Engineers (ACCE) India. Award received on 30th May,2007 from Association of Consulting Civil Engineers(ACCE)[INDIA] , Bangalore Centre , No.2, UVCE Alumni Association Building,K.R. Road, Bangalore -560 001.

He is a recipient of Best Presentation Award in the Annual Symposium 2010 , for presenting the paper titled “Concrete subjected to fire under compression”, organized by Department of Civil Engineering, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore 560012. during August 26th – 27th , 2010.
