About

Dr. Manjunath S V, currently working as an Assistant Professor of Environmental Engineering in the Department of Civil Engineering at BMS College of Engineering. He obtained his PhD from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras and was subsequently awarded an Institute PDF Fellowship following the completion of his doctoral studies. His research expertise spans the development of innovative technologies for water and wastewater treatment, including electrocatalysis, photocatalysis, sonocatalysis, and microwave-assisted degradation, with a focus on removing emerging contaminants. He also works on modeling complex multi-pollutant sorption processes for the removal of micropollutants, heavy metals, dyes, and nutrients from aqueous systems. In addition, his research addresses waste management strategies, valorization of waste into valuable resources, and industrial waste treatment. With over 12 years of combined research and teaching experience, Dr. Manjunath has authored 22 SCI-indexed journal publications, contributed 5 book chapters and holds 2 granted patents. His work has been recognized with several honors, including the Award for Outstanding Research Publication by VGST, Government of Karnataka, the Prof. T. P. Halappa Gowda Endowment Award, and a First Rank Gold Medal in M.Tech., along with multiple fellowships. Currently, he is guiding 2 Ph.D. scholars and 1 M.S. (Research), and has supervised over 22 M.Tech. and 9 B.E. research projects. In addition to his research, he contributes to the scientific community as a peer reviewer for numerous prestigious international journals from reputed publishers such as Nature, Elsevier, Springer, and Wiley.
