Faculty Profile

About

Dr. Gururaj is a Professor in the department of Electronics and Communication at BMS College of Engineering, Bengaluru, he holds a Ph.D. from Jain University and postgraduate and undergraduate degrees from Visvesvaraya Technological University. A named inventor on a granted AI patent, his work bridges the gap between academic theory and industrial application. His scholarly portfolio includes over 90 papers indexed in major databases like Scopus and Web of Science, supported by high citation metrics. Throughout his 23-year tenure, he has secured various research grants and awards. His current focus lies in image retrieval, VLSI design, and the evolving applications of deep learning, and artificial intelligence. He has one of the highest Vidwan scores of 9.7/10 in the institution. He is a Senior IEEE member, Life member of ISTE, IEI and IAENG professional bodies. He has been awarded with the Best Researcher award and Best Teacher award from IEEE. He has successfully guided students towards KSCST grants for 2020-21, 2021-22 and 2023-24. The students have also won international recognitions and accolades under his guideship.
