Dr. Maligi Anantha Sunil is a distinguished researcher and educator specializing in chalcopyrite semiconductor materials for thin film solar cell applications. With extensive expertise in both physical and chemical deposition methods, Dr. Sunil excels in analyzing the properties of deposited films using advanced characterization techniques. He has hands-on experience in fabricating solar cells and employing various deposition processes, including thermal evaporation, sputtering, spray pyrolysis, and chemical bath deposition.
Academic Background
Dr. Sunil holds a Ph.D. in Instrumentation and Applied Physics from the Indian Institute of Science, where his doctoral research focused on the study of AgInS₂ films as absorber layers for heterojunction solar cells. His groundbreaking work on AgInS₂/ZnS heterojunction thin film solar cells involved both vacuum and non-vacuum deposition techniques, leading to significant advancements in optimizing film properties and enhancing photoelectric characteristics. He also holds a B.Tech in Electronics and Instrumentation from Aurora's Engineering College, Telangana.
Research and Professional Experience
Dr. Sunil has made significant contributions to the field through his role as a Project Assistant at the Department of Instrumentation, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. During his tenure, he was instrumental in the design, development, and testing of non-invasive instrumentation for measuring cardiovascular parameters, demonstrating his versatility and capability in both medical instrumentation and photovoltaic research.
