Puneeth R is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at BMS College of Engineering. With over 11 years of combined teaching and industry experience, he is committed to delivering high-quality education while fostering innovation, research, and professional excellence among students.
Prior to joining BMSCE, he worked as a DevOps Engineer and Software Developer, bringing valuable industry expertise into the classroom. His teaching philosophy emphasizes bridging theoretical foundations with practical applications, enabling students to develop the technical and problem-solving skills required for successful careers in computing and artificial intelligence. My research interests include Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Generative AI, Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision, Explainable AI, Data Science, and Intelligent Systems. I have published research papers in international conferences and a Scopus-indexed journal. I have innovation efforts include one granted patent and one patent application, reflecting his commitment to research and technology development. In recognition of his research contributions, one of his projects was selected for funding by the Karnataka State Council for Science and Technology (KSCST) in 2025. Over the course of his academic career, I have taught more than ten undergraduate courses in Computer Science and Engineering and has successfully guided numerous undergraduate student projects. He is passionate about mentoring students, encouraging research and promoting experiential learning through industry-oriented and project-based education. I am the professional member of prestigious organizations, including IEEE and ISTE and actively engages in continuous learning, research collaboration and academic service. His technical expertise, industry experience and dedication to education continue to inspire and prepare the next generation of engineers and innovators in the rapidly evolving fields of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
