About
LATHA M R is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Machine Learning at BMS College of Engineering. She received her B.E degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Sha-Shib College of Engineering, Chikkaballapura, in 2015, and her M.Tech(CSE) degree from Visvesvaraya Institute of Advanced Technology, Chikkaballapura, in 2017. She Completed her M.Tech Internship at BSNL Hassan.
She previously worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at ACS college of Engineering, Bengaluru, from 2023 to 2025 January. Subsequently, She worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Sapthagiri NPS University, Bengaluru, from January 2025 to January 2026. Currently pursuing Ph.D at ACS Research center under the guidance of Associate Prof.Krishna Kumar A. Her academic experience spans teaching and higher education in the fields of Computer Science Engineering, and Machine Learning.

Roles and Responsibilities
She served as an Assistant Professor and was actively involved in teaching, mentoring, academic coordination, departmental administration, and various institutional activities. Along with her regular teaching responsibilities, she handled several additional roles and responsibilities, contributing to the academic and overall development of students and the department.
Mentor: She served as a mentor to students, providing academic guidance, counselling, and support while monitoring their academic progress and overall development.
Class Advisor:She worked as a Class Advisor, coordinating academic activities, maintaining communication with students, addressing their academic concerns, and ensuring the smooth functioning of the class.
Project Guide: She guided students in their academic projects by providing technical support, monitoring project progress, and assisting students throughout the planning, implementation, and completion of their projects.
Project Guide Coordinator: As Project Guide Coordinator, she coordinated project-related activities, facilitated the allocation of project guides, monitored the progress of projects, and ensured the timely completion of project work.
Faculty Coordinator: She served as a Faculty Coordinator for various academic and institutional activities, coordinating faculty members and ensuring the effective execution of assigned responsibilities.
Mentor Coordinator: As Mentor Coordinator, she coordinated the mentoring activities of the department, monitored the mentoring process, and ensured that students received appropriate academic and personal guidance.
Event Coordinator: She actively coordinated and organized various academic, technical, cultural, and departmental events, ensuring their smooth and successful execution.
In-charge HOD:She undertook the responsibility of In-charge Head of the Department and handled various academic and administrative activities of the department in the absence of the Head of the Department.
Member – Stock Verification Committee: She served as a member of the Stock Verification Committee and participated in the verification, documentation, and maintenance of departmental/institutional assets and stock.
Member – SHE Committee: She served as a member of the SHE Committee and contributed to initiatives related to student welfare, safety, awareness, and the creation of a supportive and respectful academic environment.
Member – Anti-Ragging Committee:She served as a member of the Anti-Ragging Committee and contributed to maintaining a safe, disciplined, and ragging-free campus environment.
NAAC Criterion 5 Coordinator – Department Level:She served as the Department-level Coordinator for NAAC Criterion 5, coordinating the collection, compilation, verification, and maintenance of relevant data and supporting documents required for the NAAC accreditation process.
Through these diverse responsibilities, she demonstrated strong leadership, coordination, mentoring, organizational, and administrative skills, while actively contributing to the academic development of students and the overall functioning and development of the department and institution.
