1.2024Unlocking MongoDB Workshop (by MongoDB) - An insightful and technical workshop designed to introduce participants to NoSQL databases. The workshop was made possible through the support of MongoDB, who provided expert guidance and resources. Held on 5th December 2024 in the CSBS Lab, the session was coordinated by Paras and Devansh Sangwan, students of the CSBS department, with Dr. Gururaja H.S. as the faculty coordinator. The workshop was led by Babu Srinivasan (Senior Partner Solutions Architect, MongoDB) and attracted 60 participants, covering database architecture, data modeling, and advanced querying techniques. The session concluded with a questionnaire, encouraging participants to apply their newfound knowledge and clarify any doubts. The interactive environment and practical exercises ensured participants gained a solid understanding of NoSQL databases and their real-world applications.
2.2024PhaseShift 2024 Department Stall Student Project Showcase - The Department Stall showcased innovative projects by CSBS department students. Coordinated by Kartikeya Gupta and Brahmansh Bora, with Tejaswini K. as the faculty coordinator, the stall attracted many visitors, including students, faculty, and industry experts. Two major projects presented were “Edge Computing and IoT-Enabled Informed Irrigation Using Deep Learning Neural Networks” and “IoT-Based Lightweight Deep Learning Model for Early Plant Decay Detection,” guided by Prof. R. Ashok Kumar, Head of the Department. The event encouraged knowledge sharing and collaboration, earning praise for engaging presentations and valuable suggestions from top industry personnel to incorporate AI for enhanced functionality. This feedback has inspired future projects and highlighted the department’s commitment to innovation.
3.2024Autogen Workshop (by UiPath) - A hands-on workshop powered by UiPath, aimed to equip participants with the fundamentals and advanced aspects of Robotic Process Automation (RPA). The workshop was generously supported by UiPath, who provided expert speakers and resources. Held on 4th December 2024 in the CSBS Lab, the workshop was coordinated by Chethan B.N. and Chandan B.P., students of the CSBS department, with Dr. Gururaja H.S. as the faculty coordinator. Industry experts Anuj Srivastava (Program Manager, UiPath) and Abhijit Sreenivas (Senior Program Manager, UiPath) led the session. A total of 55 participants were introduced to automation tools, workflow automation, and efficiency enhancement techniques. The interactive format allowed participants to build bots and automate processes, making it a truly immersive experience. The workshop received positive feedback from attendees, highlighting the practical and industry-relevant approach.
4.2024The Tycoon Trials - A dynamic and intellectually stimulating trivia-based event that tested participants’ analytical skills, strategic thinking, and knowledge of global business leaders. The department proudly partnered with Khushi You Wellness Tech LLP, who provided both monetary and moral support for the event. The event was held on 4th December 2024, the first day of PhaseShift, in the CSBS department classroom, attracting 20 teams, totalling around 50 participants. The event was coordinated by Shraddha B. and Pratiksha K.P., students of the CSBS department, with Dr. Gururaja H.S. serving as the faculty coordinator. The volunteers and event hosts maintained an enthusiastic yet competitive environment, elevating the event's energy. The winners were awarded ₹4,000, while the runners-up received ₹2,000. The judging panel, comprising industry experts and esteemed faculty members, evaluated participants on their quick thinking and business acumen. The event concluded successfully, leaving participants inspired to apply their skills in real-world scenarios.
