About

I have Ph.D. in Biological sciences, with 5 years of research experience under Dr. H.K. Manonmani at CSIR-Central Food Technological Research Institute, Mysore, focusing on the extraction and characterization of secondary metabolites from plant and microbial sources and their application in diabetes management. My doctoral work involved both in vitro and in vivo evaluation of antidiabetic compounds and their encapsulated formulations. I completed a postdoctoral project at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, investigating the mechanobiology of tissue fibrosis, in collaboration with Profs. P. Kondaiah (MRDG) and B. Gopal (MBU), using biochemical and chromatographic techniques to quantify collagen and crosslink density in animal tissues. In addition to this foundational research, I actively engaged designing a dietary formulation for diabetic management with low glycemic index from Gymnema sylvestre. My current research focuses on holistic, diet-based interventions aimed at improving gut health, managing postpartum depression, and enhancing mental health. My interdisciplinary approach combines nutrition science, traditional medicine, and food technology to explore sustainable strategies for overall wellbeing.
