About

Myself, Venkatesh Boddapati, graduated from Acharya Nagarjuna University, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, in Electrical and Electronics Engineering in the year 2009, and pursued my master's in Power Electronics from the B.M.S College of Engineering, Bangalore, in the year 2011. I joined BMSCE in the year 2012. I have been teaching subjects related to Power Electronics, Electrical Machines, Electric drives, Electric Vehicles, Power systems and Renewable Energy for Under Graduate Electrical and Electronics Engineering students and Electromagnetic Interference/Electromagnetic Compatibility, Electric Vehicles and Research Methodology to post-graduate students. I was deputed on QIP to do my PhD at the prestigious National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli (NITT.), from 2018 to 2021, sponsored by Govt. Of India and B.M.S College of Engineering, Bangalore. I was awarded a degree in 2021 in Renewable Energy and Microgrids/Electric vehicle charging station design. From 2021 onwards, I have been actively involved in academics, research, consultancy, and administration. My areas of research are power electronics, electric drives, electric vehicles, renewable energy, and power systems. I have completed research projects and consultancy works sponsored by different agencies. Three research scholars are Working under me for their Ph.D. degrees from VTU. I have 25 publications, 2 book chapters, one book and one patent published to my credit. In addition to academics and research, I am also into administration, serving the department and institute in different capacities like Nodal Officer NIRF, Nodal Officer-India Today Ranking, Institute consultancy committee member, Warden, Secretary, BMS Educational Trust Hostels (IH).

Externally funded projects/Patents
I. Received 5,00,000/- from NIDHI PRAYAS (Department of Science & Technology) for an assisted microbial fuel cell for electricity generation from a food waste project in the year 2023.
II. Received 3,50,000/- from AICTE Training And Learning (ATAL) Academy for organizing a workshop on Emerging Technologies in Sustainable Energy Systems in the year 2023.
III.Recevied 2,00,000 from MHRD for organising a workshop on Electrical Power systems in the year 2017.
Consultancy Projects completed
I. Completed consultancy project of 1,28,915/- from Mosaique India Pvt. Ltd in the year 2022 on Electric Vehicles.
II. Completed consultancy project of 14000/- from Astra Microwave Pvt. Ltd in 2018 on Inspection of the Power Factor Problems: Cause and Suggestions for Remedial Action.

A patent was granted on a charging system for an electric vehicles and a method thereof. (Granted Date: 21-1-2025)


Administrative Responsibilities Undertaken at the institute level and contribution to society.

Serving as a Secretary (IH) for B.M.S Educational Trust Hostel (BMSETH) from 2024.
Serving as an Adviser for NIRF ranking for the year 2025.
Served as a NODAL officer for NIRF ranking 2022,2023 and 2024 ranking.
Served as a NODAL officer for India Today Ranking for the year 2024.
I have been a BMS Engineering Consultancy Center Committee (BMSECCC) member since 2022.
Served as a Hostel warden from 2022 to 2024.

Served as EEEA Faculty Coordinator.
Served as the Warden for BMS Educational Trust Hostel from 2015 to 2018.
Served as secretary for IEEE, SSIT, ES chapter, Bangalore section, from 2016-2018.

Served as a Guest Editor for the distributed Generation and Alternative Energy journal. (SCOPUS INDEXED Journal).
