Research Interests: Polymer composite materials for sensor applications.

About

Current research interests are in the area of conducting polymer composites. Dr. Murugendrappa M V has published 71 papers in peer reviewed journals, such as Materials Research Bulletin, Ceramic International, Journal of Applied Polymer Science, Materials Science and Engineering, etc., and 48 papers in conferences. Teaching experience of over 23 years. He is one of the principal investigators of the project “Centre for Excellence in Advanced Materials Research” funded by TEQIP 1.2.1 for the amount 5 crores, further the TEQIP sanctioned an additional amount of 2 crores as one of the best projects executed Institution in the country. Under his guidance 05 students were awarded PhD and 08 students were awarded M.Phil. and presently 04 students are working for their Ph.D. He served as Head of the Department of Physics for more than 7 years at BMS College of Engineering, Bengaluru. He also served with one more additional responsibility as Deputy Controller of Examination at BMS College of Engineering, Bengaluru for more than 2 years. Received Best Presentation Award. Dr. Murugendrappa is presently working as Associate Professor at theDepartment of Physics, BMS College of Engineering, Bengaluru.

Awarded endorsement prize for securing highest marks to the entire college during B.Sc. in 1996.
First Rank holder and Gold Medalist in M.Sc. for the year 1998.
